Privacy Policy

MeowTarot is a cat-themed tarot app. You can use almost everything — daily readings, question pulls, full readings, decks, and your streak — without an account, and that data stays on your device. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can delete it.

1. Data stored only on your device

By default MeowTarot is a local-first app. The following never leave your device unless you choose to sign in:

Your readings, daily card, and reading session
Your streak, active deck, and unlocked decks
Language preference and other settings

This is kept in your browser/app local storage. Clearing the app's data or signing out removes it.

2. Data we collect when you sign in

Signing in is optional. It is used to save your reading history across devices, to run your account, and — only if you separately opt in (see section 5) — to send you marketing email. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive from that provider:

A unique account identifier
Your email address
Your display name (if provided)

If you sign in with Apple, you may choose to hide your email; we then receive Apple's private relay address instead. We do not receive your Google or Apple password.

Once signed in, your saved readings (the cards drawn and the reading metadata) are stored in our database so you can see your history on any device.

3. Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the app is used — for example which features are opened and which readings are completed — so we can improve it. These are aggregate, product-usage events. We do not use this data to track you across other apps or websites, and we do not serve advertising.

5. Marketing email, and how to stop it

We do not email you about news, new decks, or reminders unless you asked us to. Signing in does not opt you in, and neither does accepting our terms. The opt-in is its own checkbox in Profile → Settings, unticked by default.

When you tick it, we record the date and time, the exact wording you were shown, the language it was shown in, and the version of this policy that was live. That record is what proves your consent was specific and freely given, as Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) requires.

You can withdraw at any time, and it takes one tap. Untick the same box in Profile → Settings, or use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any marketing email — that link works without signing in. Withdrawal takes effect immediately and does not affect anything you have already received.

Withdrawing does not stop service email — messages about your account, a deck you ordered, or a security issue. Those are necessary to provide what you asked for, are not marketing, and cannot be unsubscribed from while you have an account. Deleting your account (section 7) ends those too.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We use a small number of service providers to run MeowTarot:

Supabase — authentication and database hosting for signed-in accounts
Google Analytics — usage analytics
Cloudflare / GitHub Pages — content delivery and hosting

7. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account at any time. Open the app, go to Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your account and all readings synced to our database. The action cannot be undone.

Data kept only on your device can be removed by signing out or clearing the app's storage. To request deletion by email, contact us at [email protected].

8. Data retention

Signed-in account data is kept until you delete your account or ask us to delete it. On-device data persists until you clear it.

9. Children

MeowTarot is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

10. International users

Your data may be processed on servers operated by our service providers in regions outside your own. By using MeowTarot you consent to this processing.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the date at the top when we do.
